Milton
Mr. Steve Balaban is the General Manager for the Halton, Hamilton-Wentworth
and Niagara Regions in our Milton branch located in the Town of Milton. Mr.
Balaban received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of
Toronto, specializing in Survey Science, and was commissioned as an Ontario
Land Surveyor in 1986. Mr. Balaban has been employed by J.D. Barnes Limited
since 1987.
Mr. Balaban acquired his knowledge through various projects that he has been
involved with, such as in Libya, North Africa and the development of a geodetic
control network for mapping throughout the country using satellite technology to
obtain geodetic coordinates. Closer to home, he has managed the Union Gas easement
layout and profile stretching from Hamilton to Milton, and many topographical
site surveys including utilities and municipal services.

Mr. John Barber is Chairman of the Board of Directors for J.D.Barnes Limited.
Mr. Barber earned his degree at the University of Toronto with a Civil Engineering
Survey Option and joined J.D.Barnes Limited in 1962. In 1964 he became a Professional
Engineer and received his commission as an Ontario Land Surveyor, and in 1971 was
commissioned as a Canada Land Surveyor. Mr. Barber has occupied a variety of positions
at J.D.Barnes Limited including Manager Control Surveys Division, General Manager of
the Toronto Office, President, and his current post, Chairman of the Board.
Within the Land Surveying industry, Mr. Barber has been acknowledged by his election
as President of the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors, President of the internationally
renowned Canadian Institute of Surveying and Mapping (now Canadian Institute of Geomatics),
and Chairman of the Geomatics Industry Association of Canada. Mr. Barber is currently a
member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario, the Association of Ontario
Land Surveyors, the Canadian Institute of Geomatics and the Canada Lands Surveyors Association.

Milton
Mr. David Black is the Manager of our Peel Region operations located in the Town of Milton.
Mr. Black obtained his Bachelor of Survey Science from the University of Toronto and joined J.D.
Barnes Limited in 1988. In 1991 Mr. Black was commissioned as an Ontario Land Surveyor.
Mr. Black has supervised both the field and office functions for many legal engineering and
topographical site surveys in the Peel, Caledon, Halton, and surrounding area. His experience
extends to both supervisory and project management experience in the creation of hydro,
municipal services, and utility easements, as well as construction stakeouts and data collection.

Thunder Bay
Mr. Peter de Haan is the Manager of our Thunder Bay District Branch office
overseeing all Northern Ontario projects for the firm. Mr. de Haan joined J.D.
Barnes Limited in 2003 with the acquisition of Peter de Haan Limited. Late in
the same year, Mr. de Haan assumed the position of manager. Mr. de Haan attended
the University of Toronto to obtain his Bachelor of Science and was commissioned
as an Ontario Land Surveyor in 1993.
Mr. de Haan's 20 years of surveying experience includes residential and
commercial condominiums, plans of subdivision, severances, construction layout,
topographic surveys, and MTO legal and engineering surveys. Mr. de Haan has
managed multiple major projects including the construction of the Musselwhite
Mine site, tailings dam raises for the Musselwhite Mine, and survey plans for
the construction of the Bell FOTS line through northwestern Ontario.

COLIN BOGUE, B.Sc., O.L.S., P.Eng.

Mr. Colin Bogue is the General Manager of our Metropolitan Toronto, York, and Simcoe Cadastral
Surveying Division located in our head office in Markham. Mr. Bogue attended the University of
Toronto, earning his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and returned later to complete the Survey
Science Program. Mr. Bogue was commissioned as a Professional Engineer in 1986, joined J.D.Barnes
Limited in 1987 and was commissioned as an Ontario Land Surveyor in 1988.
Mr. Bogue has been involved in various larger scale projects including the preparation of multiple
reference plans and legal surveys for the City of North York, City of Scarborough, City of Etobicoke,
Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto, Rapid Transit Expansion Program/ Toronto Transit Commission
and Region of York.

Mrs. Linda Brayford is the Manager of Finance and Administration located in our head office
in Markham. Mrs. Brayford attended West Hill Collegiate and joined J.D. Barnes Limited in 1970.
Mrs. Brayford is responsible for all financial aspects of J.D.Barnes Limited including job
costing, payroll processing, accounts management, audits, accounts receivable and accounts
payable.

ANDREW CHAN, B.A.Sc., P.Eng.

Mr. Andrew Chan is the Information Technology Manager located in our head office in Markham.
Mr. Chan attended the University of Toronto where he obtained his degree in Engineering Science,
and also attended Ryerson Polytechnical Institute where he studied Survey Sciences. Mr. Chan
has been with J.D.Barnes Limited since 1980. His affiliations include the Association of
Professional Engineers of Ontario, the Institute of Electrical Electronics Engineers, and
the Association of Computing Machinery.
Mr. Chan has managed all of the Information Technology projects at J.D. Barnes Limited,
including the development of translation software for the exchange of data between various
software environments (i.e. MicroStation, CableCad, GEOMAX and Autocad), developing communication
links and data transfer routines for customer information systems, AM/FM systems, and corporate
databases, developing software tools and maintenance software used for various utilities conversion
projects, and the design and development of Quality Control Software for the TransCanada
Pipelines project .

Whitby
Mr. Scott Coons is the Manager of our Durham and Northumberland Region Branch office located
in the Town of Whitby. Mr. Coons received his Bachelor of Science from the University of
Toronto specializing in Survey Science and was commissioned as an Ontario Land Surveyor in 1996.
Mr. Coons has been employed with J.D. Barnes Limited since 1991, and has been responsible for
the majority of cadastral work undertaken by J.D. Barnes Limited in the Durham Region since
receiving his commission. Prior to working in the Durham office, Mr. Coons worked for our
Geodetic Division on a number of Trans Canada pipeline projects in various capacities.
Mr. Coons has been directly involved with major projects such as preparing Reference Plans
for Land Titles in Ajax, preparing Reference Plans for the Ontario Hydro Demerger, the layout
and preparation of site plan drawings for Communication Towers throughout Southern, Central and
Eastern Ontario for Telus Inc., and the preparation and registration of various plans for
developers within Durham Region.

Mr. Gary Kirstine is the past President of J.D.Barnes Limited and past General Manager of
First Base Solutions (FBS), a division of J.D. Barnes Limited. Currently Mr. Kirstine is
working on a consultant basis for First Base Solutions. Mr. Kirstine attended the University
of Toronto where he completed his degree in Civil Engineering, was commissioned as an Ontario
Land Surveyor in 1972, and joined J.D. Barnes Limited in 1976.
Mr. Kirstine has over 25 years of experience in all aspects of the mapping business including
technical, management and financial capacities. Mr. Kirstine is a member of the Ontario
Association of Professional Engineers and the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors and has
held several positions at J.D. Barnes including Manager, Vice President and President. He
stepped down as President of JDB in April 2000 to focus his efforts on the First Base Solutions
initiative. Mr. Kirstine was closely involved in the start-up of, and was the President of Landata
International Services - a mapping and data conversion services consortium that was established
to provide digital mapping and data conversion services for Teranet Land Information Services.

JOHN KNOWLES, O.L.S., O.L.I.P.

Mr. John Knowles is the General Manager of our Mapping and Land Information Services Division
and the General Manager of First Base Solutions (FBS) a division of J.D. Barnes Limited.
Mr. Knowles obtained the general proficiency "O" and "A" level examinations from the University
of London, and was trained in Photogrammetry at Hunting Surveys, London England. Mr. Knowles
joined J.D.Barnes Limited in 1974 and received his Ontario Land Information Professional
designation in 2000. Mr. Knowles is a member of the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors,
URISA, GITA, GEAC, CIG, and MISA.
Mr. Knowles manages all photogrammetric and property mapping projects at J.D. Barnes Limited
and has provided consulting services to the Inter American Development Bank for the implementation
of Digital Mapping and an automated Land Titles, Registry and Appraisals system for the country
of Belize. Mr Knowles was instrumental in the implementation of the digital "Soft Copy"
mapping systems and Orthophoto mapping services that are now provided.

ANN MARIE MAILHOT-ARON, B.Sc., O.L.S., O.L.I.P.

Mrs. Ann Marie Mailhot-Aron is the Manager of our Mapping Division of First Base Solutions,
located in Markham. Mrs. Mailhot-Aron received her Bachelor of Science from the University of
Toronto, majoring in Surveying Sciences, joined J.D. Barnes Limited in 1979, and was commissioned
as an Ontario Land Surveyor in 1991.
Mrs. Mailhot-Aron manages digital photogrammetric projects including topographic and orthophoto
mapping and property mapping projects. Municipal projects include orthophoto and topographic
mapping projects for the city of London, Sault Ste. Marie, Kingston and Barrie, to name a few,
as well as the York Region-General Partner Organization/First Base Solutions mapping initiative which encompasses the Greater Toronto Area and the Golden Horseshoe municipal limits and conservation authority jurisdictional lands from Niagara to Hastings County and northward to Simcoe County. Additional projects include the Province of Ontario Land Registration Information
System (POLARIS) property mapping projects, Enbridge PipeLines Sarnia to Manitoba landbase and
Bell Canada's Toronto to Manitoba Fibre Optics (FOTS) project.

Mr. Frank Mauro is the President and C.E.O. of J.D. Barnes Limited. Mr. Mauro attended Ryerson
Polytechnical University where he received his Bachelor of Technology in Geodetic Sciences and
subsequently attended the Survey Science program at the University of Toronto. Mr. Mauro has
been employed by J.D. Barnes Limited since 1981 and was commissioned as an Ontario Land Surveyor
in 1983. Mr. Mauro began at J.D.Barnes Limited as a Survey Assistant and has worked in
virtually every surveying position in the Company gaining extensive knowledge and experience
in our business. His experiences have focused on the land development and building industry.
Mr. Mauro managed the Housing Division, Mississauga Office and Cadastral Operations prior to
becoming President of the firm in 2000. He is an active member of the GTHBA and UDI and has
served on various committees of the AOLS.

Mr. Greg Robinson is the Manager of our Metropolitan Toronto, York, and Simcoe Cadastral Surveying
Division located in our head office in Markham. Mr. Robinson earned his Bachelor of Technology
degree in Survey Engineering from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute and attended the Survey Science
program at the University of Toronto; he has been with J.D.Barnes Limited since 1988 and was
commissioned as an Ontario Land Surveyor in 1992.
Mr. Robinson supervises and controls all field work, calculations and verification for current
TTC contracts for legal surveying and engineering surveying. Past projects include the
supervision and control of all fieldwork, calculations and verification for large construction
projects such as the extension for the Art Gallery of Ontario, and the proposed Ballet Opera
House and for several legal projects on behalf of the TTC Rapid Transit Expansion Project,
Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto, the City of Toronto, the City of North York and the City
of Scarborough.

Mr. Alfonso Roccaforte is the General Manager of our Simcoe Branch
located in The City of Barrie. Mr. Roccaforte received his Bachelor of
Technology from Ryerson University with a degree in Geodetic Sciences.
He has been employed by J.D.Barnes Limited since 1984 and was
commissioned as an Ontario Land Surveyor in 1985.
Mr. Roccaforte is responsible for the Simcoe office operation which
includes preparing various plans of survey, subdivision plans, SRPR's,
expropriation plans, street widening plans, construction layouts,
topographic surveys and condominium plans. Prior to his employment with
J.D. Barnes Limited, Mr. Roccaforte was an instructor of field
methodology at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto and had worked
in various other survey positions with other firms. Mr. Roccaforte is an
active member of the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors.

Mr. Joseph Young is the General Manager of our Engineering and Geodetic Surveying Division located
in our head office in Markham. Mr. Young attended the University of Toronto where he obtained his
Honours Bachelor of Science degree, specializing in Survey Science. Mr. Young joined J.D. Barnes
Limited in 1996 and was commissioned as an Ontario Land Surveyor in 1998.
Mr. Young has managed all Engineering and Geodetic Surveys since January 1999 for the MTO and
several major engineering firms. In addition, Mr. Young has managed all Pipeline Projects since
January 1999.

Mr. George Zervos is the Manager of our Ottawa and Surrounding Area Branch office located in
Ottawa. Mr. Zervos obtained his Bachelor of Technology from Ryerson Polytechnical University and
attended the Survey Science Program at the University of Toronto. Mr. Zervos completed his
articles at a Pembroke Surveying Firm and was commissioned in 1999.
Mr. Zervos acquired a management position at the Pembroke Surveying Firm immediately upon
becoming an O.L.S. and joined J.D. Barnes Ltd, in 2002. Mr. Zervos's surveying experience
includes housing, industrial condominiums, legal surveying plans of subdivision, MTO legal
surveys and engineering surveys. Mr. Zervos has managed multiple major projects including
a survey of the Des Jochams Hydro Electric Dam, multiple structures for CFB Petawawa and
engineering projects at AECL Chalk River.
