This is J.D. Barnes Limited Survey Records Database. Users of this database are able to search the records of J.D. Barnes Limited for (1) Surveys that have been performed, or (2) plans that have been prepared by us or firms which we own the records of. You may search our geographic field note database and be presented with the plans that have been prepared for individual jobs from the plans database. Currently registration to our databases are only available to J.D. Barnes Staff and Ontario Land Surveyors. We hope to have the download capability for the general public in the near future. Anyone, registered or not, is welcome to look through our records, although, unless you are a registered user there is no download capability. If you are not a registered user you can contact us regarding any plans of survey you may need. If you are an Ontario Land Surveyor you may apply to be a registered user by completing the form on the previous page. You should be added to our list of downloaders within 24 hours. If you are already a registered user you simply have to enter your email address and password to gain access. Our databases consist of our Survey Record Index and Scanned Plans Index. The Survey Record Index is geo referenced. That is to say that the records are geographically indexed in the same way that the registry offices index properties. In general this is by lot and concession or lot/block and Registered plan within a given municipality. There are no coordinates available that may help in locating the position of the survey. If you are looking for non Deposited, or non Registered plans you need to search our survey records. The report from this indicates if there is a plan available with a particular record.

- Survey Notes
- Plans This search option will allow you to search our Survey Notes database. If a record is found to have a corresponding plan, depending on your permissions, there will be options available to obtain the plan. PLAN REGISTRATION NUMBER SEARCH This search allows you to search for plans by their registration number in the registry or land titles office. These plans are most typically reference plans, plans of subdivision, Condominium plans…etc. When searching for a plan that has a prefix (e.g. 66R-) leave the prefix off and only enter the number portion of the plan number. You will get more hits this way with a greater probability of the plan you are searching for will be in the report. If you are new to the J.D. Barnes Limited Survey Database you will be required to register to gain access to all the features of the database. You may search our databases without registering, however, you will not have any capability to retrieve documents. If you are a registered user you can retrieve a forgotten password by simply answering the reminder question you submitted when you registered. The password will then be emailed to you immediately. This option will take you to a page that contains a list of all the plans you have selected for download in the current session. If there are charges applicable to any of the downloads a total amount will be presented prior to completing the download. There is a small handling charge associated with obtaining copies of scanned documents that are on record and available through the registry or land titles offices. If your account has permission to retrieve documents, you will be presented with a list of all documents you have previously checked out. This list will be current for the last 28 to 48 hours, depending on the time of day a document is marked for retrieval. When originally selecting documents for download comments that are added are displayed here to help you distinguish which document you want to redownload.
