The surveying component is comprised of 8 divisions providing land surveying services from all 7 offices. The services provided include the following:
J.D. Barnes offers services that are complimentary to those provided by engineers, planners, architects, lawyers and other consultants involved in the design, development and construction industry. A full range of legal surveying services are provided to both the public and private sector such as plans of subdivision, reference plans for boundary resolution and land titles application, surveyors real property reports and topographic plans for land development. Engineering surveys include services provided on utility and pipeline corridors, highways, and large infrastructure projects. The company believes in training and developing its staff in-house which allows for continuity and relationship building with our clients. J.D. Barnes Limited employs over 20 licensed Ontario Land Surveyors, which is significantly more than any other firm in the province. Most of these professionals have received their license while employed at Barnes and have been with the firm for a good part of their career. A considerable investment has been made in leading edge technology that will provide the survey group with the tools necessary to remain at the forefront of the industry. Traditional field survey equipment is complemented by the latest technology available to the industry such as Global Positioning Systems, Robotic Total Stations, Digital Precise Levels, and wireless data collection devices. Our in-house Information Technology group supports the hardware and software needs of the survey divisions and has been instrumental in developing unique and innovative programs to expedite field to office data exchange and processing. As with all of our services, the skills and knowledge of our staff are the most important factor in the success of the survey group.
