HERBERT LINDSAY COONS

Herbert Lindsay Coons was originally from Morrisburg, and prior to his graduation from U of T as P .Eng and class president, Herb lead a distinguished service career in the RCAF being awarded the DFC and Bar for chronicled episodes in Burma and the Atlantic. His determination and focus as one of Toronto's prominent professional surveyors during the 50's found him as an integral component in major urban projects.

His transition to mining engineering brought forth an involvement in precious metal and petroleum exploration that encompassed most of North and South America as well as the Caribbean. His love of the great outdoors and the simpler country and cottage life found him living in Thornbury, and enjoying the Maritime lifestyle with his eldest daughter Nancy and her family up until his death on May 5, 2005.
